Yes Medivet are taking over by the look of things, we saw a vet last month who left a practice because she said she would not follow their mantra of max money from customers. We are over next month so this is pretty important. For a AHC we use a vet near the tunnel @£99 for the first visit and £69 for subsequent visits it’s way less than most vets.
I am travelling soon and was at my French vet today. I mentioned this latest issue about pet passports and she said she had heard nothing. But this afternoon I received an email from Brittany Ferries stating that a current booking wasn’t anything to worry about but that, following a recent APHA update, in the future AHC’s will be required for non-residents as ”the duration of the exemption is uncertain”.
Nothing yet from DFDS.
You don’t need to sell up. You can use the AHC to enter Europe and then use your pet’s passports to go back to the UK. The rules are you just can’t use an EU pets passport to enter the EU but they are accepted going into the UK.
Exactly, it’s has very little to do with the UK despite various messages from DEFRA or APHA. So long as you evidence the various medications required to enter the UK.
