Immigration lawyers

Hello
Has anyone used an immigration lawyer that he/she would recommend?
Thank you

Is this for your naturalisation request? Unless you have been rejected, and already gone through the appeal hiérarchique stage it is really a waste of money. (A lawyer will of course say otherwise for €3000 :slightly_smiling_face:)

Only if you are going for a contentious appeal is this worthwhile.

Hi Jane ,you seem very knowledge so here is another question.
We are searching for a for a Lawyer to provide advice on my wife’s application for French Citizenship. It is a complex situation as my mother-in-law (now deceased) came from France in 1945 as a war bride. She did not return until she obtained her American citizenship some 25 years later. There is much more to the story but we are hopeful someone might provide some direction.
Thank you in advance Ed Ferszt

I’m sorry to say but you are probably excluded by the 50 year rule, code civil article 30-3

https://www.legifrance.gouv.fr/codes/article_lc/LEGIARTI000006420758?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAR6OyiuUhiWrOerK0pu8hiG2tmOKgC0ZC5qcNVIaazLLdf9mI2LHkRMSQTeWeQ_aem_88IoAzIcuXiqBC1Lr--9Yg

But you could apply for a CNF by yourself without a lawyer just in case! Stranger things have happened. A lawyer really doesn’t help as only you can find the documents you need.

Thanks for your response. The initial response from the court did not mention this .It only detailed what we needed to address in my wife’s application( I.E official translations,Apostille (Birth certificates and Marriage certificates) vital record and marriage certificate must be a full-length certificate issued within the last three months. And her passport only mentions her married name)
We are prepared for the next step of somewhat expensive translations as we have acquired the rest of the necessary documents , So will the 50 year issue jump out next?
Thanks again. Ed and Ginette

Crossed fingers that will be lucky!
