This is a tragic case. It seems that the dog was illegally imported into France… and that is the start of the downhill trek… 
DNA proves the dog (trained to attack) did kill the lady who was taking it for a walk…

And his punishment is merely a 4 year suspended sentence. Seems light for the killing of a young woman who I recall was 6 months pregnant too.

A very sad story. So many questions but in the end, no answers. I do struggle to understand the choices some people make when choosing a particular breed. What are you looking for…a companion? A guard dog? A hunting dog? How much time do you have to spend with this animal? How well do you understand the breed?How much do you understand of its background? There are so many questions and considerations. He did not do right by his girlfriend and unborn child, nor did he do right by the dog. No winners here.
