Presumably that obnoxious character is still spreading their poison? I’ve gone for the block option, it makes life so much more pleasant.
Rock meets hard place.
It’s never pleasant to see a group of drunks fighting in a pub car park.
There was a very apt broadcast today of “In our time” on the subject of “Civility”. It should be essential listening to several posters on SF

Honestly - @anon40858366, I’m going to have to ask you to edit or delete your last post but an overly large number of posts here have been pretty abrasive.
Everyone - try to keep it polite please

No you have driven her away with your elitist attitude. What an incredibly volatile short time I’ve had here, with just ONE question.
I’m sure you’ll be missed by everyone…
Sorry to say two “gentlemen” have pushed my buttons in response to the one and only question I asked. @Roger_Lapin used offensive language on more than one occasion, and has been rude to other members who have been interested in my post about Irish citizenship. I tried to keep it light hearted, but they made it their goal to antagonise, ridicule me and call me names.
This platform would have been really helpful to my family, with the various topics that it covers, and I’m sorry that the two playground bullies have succeeded in driving me away, I really am. I tried to mute or block them, but couldn’t manage it.
There’s only so much needling I’ll take before I snap, and it has gotten to that point.
They are clearly both misogynistic bully boys, who don’t want to hear a woman’s perspective or opinions, especially if they differ from theirs.
I wish you all well, and pray the two John’s hostility and resentfulness does eat away at them anymore.
Namaste ![]()
Apart from you and the other two!
Merci !
Adieu!
Et bon voyage .
Merci!
I have now officially choked on my coffee.
You should have behaved better then.
FYI at least 1 or 2 of the people who politely commented to you also wind some of us up, too. But we are always polite to them even when we do disagree with them, and we don’t personally attack them. And they have always been polite back and respectful even when they are expressing some frustration.
Bon voyage.
No, I havent any connection with Ireland myself but my brother’s father inlaw is Irish and his wife has just obtained Irish passports for her and offspring as they have a house in Spain and it is the esiest option for them.
I think its human nature to go for the e
easiest option and I suppose I would have done the same in their or the poster’s position.I can understand why you are not comfortable with this but surely it is the Irish government you should have the problem with for making this possible.
Brexit caused so many problems and I’m sure a lot of people without the Irish connection may have wished they had the passport too instead of onerous EU residence rules.
I have been living in France for a long time but having an French(EU) passport has made things so much easier the last 5 years as was spending a lot of time in UK with elderly mother.
PS I have just read all the posts above and I am quite shocked at all the agression gainst the poster, everyone is entitled to their opinion whether you agree with it or not!
Totally agree Carol. Embarrassing behaviour
Indeed, everyone is entitled to their opinion and others are equally as entitled to challenge it. That’s the joy of free speech.
