Is a Gulf State the right location for COP28

If and it’s a never, never, date, they set a date for phasing out fossil fuels, that would change quite rapidly, development and solving the problems could happen quite quickly.
The infastructure for all the millions/billions of EV/truck/vans is going to have to be put in place at some point, upgrading (depending on who you want to believe) of the power grid, are going to have to be paid for so installing hydrogen network at the same time would be feasible, but and we keep on coming back to that word, who and when is going to spend the 1000s of billions needed to do it.
The emissions reduction from going over to EV’S just now is just a public plisibo sticking plaster, while no one is prepared to spend the money needed and while they are commissioning new coal and gas power stations which offsets the reduction in emissions made by EV’s, it’s governments smoke and mirrors time.

It’s all falling apart now :face_with_peeking_eye::roll_eyes:

That’s a surprise

As I expected, the draft agreement is just full of drivel & piss, COPOUT28 roll on COPOUT29 for much the same, hugely expensive bollox :face_with_symbols_over_mouth::frowning:.
Cue a lot of tub thumping and back slapping :worried:

Just lunch clubs for the rich.

And here we go, give ourselves a big round of applause, we have done basically feck all, wasted millions on a basically pointless exercise, probably made billions of £ in new petrochemical deals, will ramp up production and punted any responsibility down to the next pointless, toothless conference.
It’s a win win for us, fantastic, that and CopOut29 is being held in a country that relies economically on fossil fuels, oil and gas production, to the tune of 50% of it’s GDP and 93% of it’s exports, you couldn’t make it up :face_with_symbols_over_mouth::angry:
