Is France really this bad?

I agree with Diana’s comments.
I don’t think made her return visit in the right spirit.
There was very little positive about her comments.
Her description of the week-end could have been transposed to many a UK town.
Neither France nor UK are perfect, but I’d rather live here than there.
We are very happy here in the Vendée and when I retire in December, this is where we’ll stay!

What a pity this poor woman’s experiences have made her so bitter.I am quite certain that most people here will have a much longer list of reasons why they stay here and have no intention of going back.

Rural France has been traditionally poor, but hasn’t that been the main reason why its towns and villages haven’t been so brutally “modernised” as most in the UK?

I am sorry for her experiences, but am pleased to say they have not been mine.

Goodness how sad that this person returned and perceived such doom and gloom. But I have a sneaking suspicion these comments are made to justify the reason for leaving, which was probably, sadly, a situation beyond their control.

I do hope they find happiness back in the UK… but surely the recession and doom and gloom has hit all of Europe… nay the world.

Good luck them them… Diana
