Raids happened yesterday across West Bank too.
It’s hard to believe this won’t be escalated.

Desperately sad.
It is very simple, the Israeli religious right want it all, including a bit of Jordan if they can get it. It seems God gave Sameria & Judea (the West Bank in effect) to them some time ago, and they want it back. The Arabs living there don’t matter, as rampaging Israeli settlers, backed up by the IDF, are proving every day.
This land grab has been their objective all along, and it is why they assassinated Yitzhak Rabin. It is also why Netanyahu tolerated Hamas in Gaza and allowed its foreign funding, so that there wasn’t a single Palestinian government with which to negotiate a two state solution.
That, combined with making Gaza a concentration camp for fourteen years caused Oct 7th. The blame for which, and the deaths of tens of thousands of women and children slaughtered by the IDF, lies firmly at his door. He’s no better than Heydrich was, it’s just a matter of scale, and I hope an ICC arrest warrant is issued for him soon.
Ben-Givr and Smotrich should also be prosecuted.
I am also intrigued by this:
How is it that he was not shot when they shot their own hostages, why did Netanyahu visit him? Will he become a poster boy for the success of the war at recovering hostages?
I’m glad he’s out, but weird that he is.
I think the Israeli troops discovered the captive quite by chance when they were targeting tunnels and searching for arms and Hamas fighters. Of course the poor chap had been abandoned while his captors escaped and with all the banging he probably just wanted to hunker down and remain hidden.
Why Hamas took and held onto bedouin hostages is something only they can answer.
You’re right. We aren’t being told the full story. It appears he escaped on his own but Netanyahu wants to make milage out of saving an Arab Israeli citizen in a "complicated"operation.
Some good news… I think it’s paywalled unfortunately.
But maybe this podcast is accessible.
I find the view from within Israel provided by Haaretz, the paper of record, invaluable.
I think this push into the West Bank is driven by a fear in the Israeli Government that Harris might win. She pissed off Netanyahu at their meeting and he and land grabbing pals will want to make hay while they can.
Great report here from 07:22…
And some good news…
I struggle to understand the West’s polar opposite views of what Netanyahu and Putin are doing. Balfour has a lot to answer for. If the state of Israel had been established in a sparsely populated area of the USA, all this could have been avoided.
Is this an attempt to prevent observers watching what is going to be done?
If I thought for a minute media manipulation was a thing, I’d be a tad suspicious.
Media manipulation is a thing, be suspicious.
They have completely lost the run of themselves. And Genocide Joe has had a large part to play in that.
And the answer to my thread title is, of course, no.
Plus we’ve now passed 45,000 dead in Gaza.
