Best is a moveable feast! Best in terms of premiums for specific options, best in terms of payment turnarounds, best in terms of range of choice of add-ons (like funeral plans).
And what’s best at 75 might not be best at 55.
Sorry but you have to do a comparison based on your specific needs. And I tend not to use comparison websites as end up with months of marketing calls, but test out specific ones (and then return to my existing policy/broker ).
So far, we’ve been happy with Alptis, but they’ve just raised their prices for Level 4 cover by nearly 20%! Can’t fault them on reimbursement though, very quick, and actually pretty good (the Level 4 is probably doing some heavy lifting here).
We’re with Utwin and that was based on using Que Choisir as a starting point. I’m not sure it’s the cheapest but it’s €153 for a pair of 62 year olds with very good dental and optical cover as Mrs H has complex eyes. Payment is very rapid and we’re very happy with them so far
I moved from Aviva after they refused to insure my so called dangerous dog, who I would have entrusted with my baby had I had one handy, and moved to Axa who have been fair and prompt enough since. Mind you, as I am very old the health insurance has become very expensive, but I reckon with my various ills, I have had my money’s worth.
