Job opportunity for native English (Nantes 44)

Hi community,

Hope it’s okay to post this here — I run a small business near Nantes (La Chevrolière), and we’re currently looking for someone with native English and a bit of technical know-how (could be alarms, electrics, or just being the one who always figures out how things work at home!).

We design, sell and distribute electronic security products (alarms, intercoms, SOS systems, cameras, etc.), and the role is a mix of customer service and after-sales support, working fully in English — no prior experience needed.
With French-speaking teammates, it’s a great opportunity if you’re living in France and want to improve your French while bringing immediate value thanks to your native language.
It’s a tech-related job, so it never gets boring, every case is a bit different, and you’ll be helping real people with real problems. All in-house (no travel, no call centre) based here in La Chevrolière in a team that enjoys working together.

We offer:

  • A stable, full-time CDI
  • Monday to Friday office schedule (no weekends)
  • A relaxed and friendly atmosphere
  • A small team (approx 8-10 people in each office, here and in Northampton)

If you’re:

  • Good at explaining things clearly
  • Comfortable with techy stuff (even if you’re self-taught)
  • Happy to help people remotely (over the phone & email)
  • Looking to work in a genuinely nice, human-sized company

…feel free to message me directly, or I can send you the full job description!

Thanks for reading,
Chris

Out of pure nosiness Chris, what’s the going salary for this sort of tele support role?

Dear Chris,

Thank you for sharing this opportunity—I found your post both refreshing and exciting. I’m currently based in Nantes and actively looking for a role that combines communication, problem-solving, and real human interaction, exactly as you described.

With 8+ years of experience spanning international trade, supply chain coordination, and stakeholder engagement, I’ve developed a knack for understanding systems quickly and explaining them clearly. While I don’t come from a pure technical background, I’ve always been the one troubleshooting tools, navigating software, or supporting teams on digital workflows—whether in logistics tech or operations. I’m comfortable with tech and love helping people solve problems, especially when the stakes are real.

The idea of joining a small, supportive team and growing in a bilingual environment really appeals to me. I’d love to learn more about the role and contribute to your mission.

Please feel free to reach out at kamran.rizvi@audencia.com or +33 7 44 86 64 03. I’m available to start immediately and happy to commute to La Chevrolière.

@cat - you OK with this?

Thanks for the alert @billybutcher and yes, fine by me !

Agreed, if it was closer then I could have been interested. Though, being from the West of Scotland, I can only offer an approximation of English.
