In browsing the Leroy Merlin website, I noticed that under the title ‘Pose et Services’ they list the renovation work that they undertake. I assume this is through third parties. They also list the work that they undertake for which grants are available, here is the list:
*Services d’installation avec aides de l’État
Pompe à chaleur Air/Eau
[Panneaux solaires]
[Isolation thermique par l’extérieur]
[Poêle à bois]
[Poêle à granulés]
[Chauffe-eau thermodynamique]
[Pompe à chaleur Air/Air]
[Isolation des combles perdus]
[Isolation des sols]
I was wondering if anyone on here has had work done via Leroy Merlin, how it all works and what was your experience? Is it likely to be more expensive than going strainght to an artisan or builder?
I sometimes read about how as an ‘etranger’ it’s hard to get French artisans to do quotes etc. Is it likely to be any easier if one used the Leroy Merlin service?
All advice/thoughts will be very welcomed.
I’ve not had work done by Leroy Merlin… but they are good company and we buy stuff there quite happily.
I’d suggest you visit your local one and talk things through with one of their advisors … we have always found them very helpful and ready to discuss whatever query we have (and it’s been a lot over the years)
so list your questions… and go and talk with them… then walk away.
Back home, you can consider your options, with no pressure… and quietly decide which way to go…
Leroy Merlin have good quality kit, but it is more expensive than elsewhere. You may wish to consider Brico-Depot, who also have a supply and fit service.
We bought a boiler there, which was installed by an independent plumber. Also some kitchen cabinets. You pay LM directly for the work and they arrange a date for the artisan to come and do it. Everything went well. Presumably the artisans take care, because they want to continue getting orders from Leroy Merlin. They often have special offers where the pose is free, or give discounts, so if you’re not in a hurry it’s worth waiting and keeping an eye out.
