Hello. Anyone here would agree helping me out and send a message in les bon coin on my behalf? I’m currently not in france and can’t get access.
But you can leave messages from abroad, if the conversation started in France. I didn’t know it was so complicated, I suppose it’s a security thing.
I can send an offer but not a message (the conversation didn’t start in france).
No vpn works for this. I just need someone to contact a seller there sending him my email so we can finalize the transaction
Hello and welcome to the forum…
Frankly, if you do not have links and don’t know people in France already… I can’t imagine why you want to use the buying/selling site… but, that’s up to you.
There are so many scams on the go at present, that folk are being advised against contacts made by strangers.
EDIT: I should add that the advice is being shared nationwide by Prefectures and Gendarmes…
I can’t see a way to do this without using my email address. It’s one I just use for online purchases, but still not sure I want to give it to an unknown person.
The link Vero gave seems to indicate you can use the messagerie. Have you tried it?
VPNs are easy and cheap these days.
OP said VPN didn’t make a difference
Thanks for all the comments guys.
And for the greetings to the forum.
Les bon coin is one of the most restricted websites I’ve encountered. They know when you’re using a vpn and they somehow blocking my messages even if I’m manually using a proxy server. (I’ve probably tried 5 different VPN’s for this).
Anyway, regarding being scamme; I buy a lot online and have always chose to believe that most people are decent and just want to sell/buy a certain object without stealing or scumming you. So far I haven’t had any bad experiences, I’m happy to say.
I buy vintage bicycle parts for my projects, and france is a great place to look for quality parts in reasonable price. When I’m in france I buy them myself, and strangely I don’t have any contacts there to send messages on my behalf.
Having said that, I can see why no one would want to send a message on behalf a stranger in a forum… so thanks for the replies and advices. I hope I’ll find someone willing to help.
Just to clarify the content of the message I’d want to send would be something like-
“Hello, I’m interested in buying this item but currently I’m outside of france. If you’re interested you can contact me via email”
So no phishing, no credit cards, no discount requests, simply providing a way to contact me.
Thanks again guys
Incidentally, the Gendarmes have reported that scam-sellers also exist . Most recently a case came to court… a faux-seller had sold cars which do not exist… over and over again…
Here’s the thing @Benda , there are a lot of tech savvy people on here as well as some who have probably unfortunately fallen for certain scams in the past. This sort of thing is discussed quite a bit and there are even threads dedicated to it. Because of this, you are unlikely to find anyone here who would do this for you because it does raise certain red flags. That’s not to say that your request is not perfectly genuine, it’s just that people here are extremely careful.
OK… so you don’t know anyone in France…
But, perhaps if you check your paperwork from previous purchases in France… you might well find someone who will help you… especially if you might be buying from them in the future (who knows )
EDIT: Just wondering which country you are in ?? Friends/neighbours/anyone you know there… do they know people in France ???
@Benda a friend has just mentioned to me that there is a Facebook page for LBC… you might like to check that out…
Interesting.
@Benda - when using a VPN have you made sure that you clear all browser cookies and (if on a mobile device) make sure the browser does not have permission to use location services.
@Benda i have sent you a message
Thank you! I’ve replied privately (I think)
