I live in Sarthe (72) and have travelled regularly to the Vendee during the summer. Recently, I've noticed two Lidl supermarkets closed and for sale (Varades in Maine et Loire and Les Hunardieres near Arnage). Is this nationwide, or just in the North-east?

One of the two I've seen was on a Retail Park with no other supermarkets nearby (Lidl tend to be near competitors), so I wasn't too surprised at that one. The other one, though, was on the main road into/out of town and right by a small Commercial Center including a SuperU.
Not surprised that those in out-of-the-way places are closing, but on a main road seems starnge.
