Test button, to cut the circuit basically to see if the disjoncteur is working correctly.

My power trips at the Linky every now and then for no bloody reason. Our house has a lot of, but pristine, electrics and our electrician can’t suss it neither can Enedis, It’s totally unpredictable.
I left for five weeks last Tuesday and on Friday, when I was a long way away the house went offline. My wonderful neighbour scaled the gate (standby battery also failed) and found the circuit in the lynky box had tripped.
Everything in the freezer (including my beloved steak and kidney and chicken and mushroom pies) ruined.
I have to say, not as a criticism but as a matter of fact, power supply in France is not as secure as any other place I’ve lived.

Now see if your lincky has power. Sometimes they need to be reset, though I’ve never needed to. Press the right hand button and circle though they round robin.

My water heater is in an enclosed wall closet which my china cabinet sits in front of. So I have to get to it and reset it apparently. Never have I even seen it. My landlady says it probably shut down with power cutoff for Linky. Next adventure…c’est la vie! MANY THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO JUMPED IN SO QUICKLY TO HELP ME OUT!

After 900km as I approached the ferry in Bilbao I got this…
I dumped the car in the Bilbao concessionaire and flew out the following day. Lots of luggage left behind (and few cases of nice wine 
).
Now BMW’s problem. I’m happy in my lovely little Hertz Polo in Dublin

I’d say Ireland beats France in the unreliability stakes, at least in North Kerry, although between the délestage in summer, and the impromptu power cuts and attempted multiple reboots for no apparent reason, France gives Ireland a run for its money.

If it followed the new Linky - they probably forgot the off peak control wire. Most water heaters are on a “switch” that automatically turns water on when power goes to off peak tariffs.
2nd row - 2nd switch along. That looks like an off peak switch - it should have 3 positions -Off Auto On. If it’s on Auto move it to On which should switch your water on.

Not clear to me. You referring to Linky device? 2nd row-2nd switch? 3 positions? Where on device are you referring to? Could you explain further pls?
There’s just the two grey buttons to press to display info on screen. Sorry but all foreign to me.
No, not the linky.
The big grey box at the top of the assembly of boxes. The one with the circular red sticker on it. There are two rows of switches.
The second row down, the second switch in from the left is different to all the others. It has a little black slider switch in the middle of it which looks like it is set to the middle ‘auto’ position. Slide the switch down to the bottom position and the water heater should come on. You will know if that solves the problem as the little green light on the Linky will start to flash much faster than at present because the water heater will have increased the amount of electricity being used. The water heater will then be on continuously and you should have hot water fairly soon.
