Little Emile

Yes, I’m following the Emile story closely too as I know the wider Vernet area (04) very well and go for weekends etc. in that wider area regularly (around Digne). People I know who live in the area all think it’s the family to blame, I really don’t know what to think. Shame for this commune that also had a very major plane crash there not so long ago.

Not this poor lady. The other one was years back now and it wasn’t in the Pyrénées but more in the Alp or Jura region if I remember.

Yes in Haute Savoie in 2015, I remember, but I can’t remember her name, I’m sure she or a friend of hers participated here on SF.

She was Carol Sheldon. Lovely lady. Daughter living in NZ or Australia and Carol was supposed to be going out there to live with the family.
The daughter knew all was not well as she’d heard nothing from her mother for a while and she struggled to get the local gendarmes to take her worries seriously.
It was only when the thread “Find Carol Sheldon” started on FB and the local press got involved that things began to happen.
This is the story I use when I want to acknowledge FB can (sometimes) be for good.

It’s being highlighted that nothing actually points the finger at anyone in particular… but the body was definitely moved/hidden by someone.
enquiries are ongoing.

My own thoughts is that he was accidentally killed and then hidden because the killer panicked. No mention of any sexual wrongdoing so far. Could have been a drunk or drugged driver, alcohol very prevalent in many isolated communities here. After having ten children, I fail to see how a mother/grandmother could live with herself if she knew or had been involved, dosn’t make sense.

All that is known for sure is that there was human intervention… by someone…

Sadly, I reckon the longer the case is “open and unsolved”… the more allegations will be muttered against the family by those who knew them and by those who didn’t know them at all… such is Life.
