I hope this is the correct forum to ask for help. Briefly, I have a friend who lives in Payrac and I am concerned that he has not been in touch for almost two months. We usually speak on the phone every week and also email. I have phoned him at his home in Payrac but it rings out with no answer. He hasn’t been well and I am concerned for his welfare. Unfortunately, I don.t know anybody in Payrac who I could contact to let me know whay has happened. I emailed the Mairie in Payrac asking for help, but have received no reply. His name is Richard Dicketts and he lives in Rue St Louis in Payrac. He is 88 and I am fearing the worst.
Mairies are often very bad with emails. Do you or anyone you know have enough French to phone about your “cousin”?
I used Google translate to write to the Mairie. I used to have holiday home in FRance and I met Dick in 2004. I sold up a few years ago and we have kept in touch since then. Last time we spoke he was going in to hospital for tests and I have not heard since. He has a few English friends in the area but I do not know any of them.
