does anyone know of a Sourcier in France??? (i've tried locally, asked the maire, ad in the shops etc)
we have a source at the Chateau we look after - the lovely owners have tried to find it - the building company have tried too... it's pretty productive and they have 'sort of' harnessed it further away from the actual original source, and it feeds ponds, a bubbly fountain thing, various gargoyle mouths and a babbling brook
anyway - i'm a non-believer - but i'm sick of them going on about it! i've said i'll find the stupid thing if it will stop everyone banging on about the water.
so, we're in norther Provence, near Vaison la Romaine, about 40 minutes north of Avignon.
free accommodation plus a small fee provided!
thanks

tut-tut, jealousy will get you nowhere young man!
thanks brian - very kind to me - though the only thing i remember is the fizzy pop lorry coming to our village (the milk man) and my turn to choose which flavour
...and very rude to somone else - can't think who you mean!
I must say you look too young to remember the 60s, unlike some other people...
thank you all so much for the great variety of suggestions...
in particular thanks to Vivien Chapman who offered the obvious solution to 'google it'... found some one! brilliant!... a chap whom i hope will not have a pointy hat or an ability to speak faery is coming - watch this space!
(also glad that brian, peter, vic et al are reminded of your musical youth... i'm a child of the 60's, so it's the 2nd summer of love for me - but that's one for another day)

yeah, my grandad told me all about the 60s...
60s ditto. Co. Op hall, Screaming Lord Sutch & ................Women! YEAH!!!!!
1960s me, local unknowns like the Rolling Stones and Yardbirds plus the new discovery, women (for me at least). Those kids now, all rap and no trousers... I think.
Believe what you like, but I shall use my ray gun to zap... err, your... something precious, well that rules out her indoors, oh yes the bike, so there :-D
And how do I know you are not the spawn of some long gone alien from planet Wiki Pedia? You could have been put on this earth to debunk the debunkers. Lah Lah, Lah Lah, I'm not listening! I'll believe what I want to believe.
Course I can remember the 70s, great times of exploring the world and sexuality !
kids nowadays waffle waffle waffle...nostalgia just ain't what it used to be !
Careful, the hypothesis gaining credibility is the limestone concrete (geopolymer cement) theory that was at first laughed at when Davidovits suggested it. However, they discovered some of the limestone quarries and there is nothing to suggest that any cubes were carved out in situ and no detritus to suggest carving into cubes away from the quarry walls. In Sudan (Nubia as was) there are around 200 smaller pyramids that were all build by stacking quarried stones. Debunkers are all around, the Jewish slaves and aliens/UFOs myths are just that and do not need debunking. There is nothing to suggest a lost technology ever existed except from the people who come up with such ideas.
Weird or what Don? As an engineer I often wonder how some of these sort of things were constructed as they do seem to defy any know techniques or logic. Always interesting to read others theories. Personally I believe there are powers out there more powerful than anything we will ever understand but don't ask me what the hell they are as I don't have a clue! "Perpetual motion"! impossible in theory but the rule book is often being torn up these days. "Gravity"! find a way to work without or locally reverse it & in the immortal words of Arthur Daley " The world is your lobster"
Lethbridge included the line as part of the pendulum, not just the weight at the bottom and even believed the way the two were attached was important. Some 'knots' and binding better than others as he wrote. One journal article I just found (sorry it is a closed one so I can't download or copy) said that silk and cotton are the best strings, synthetics work but are inferior and most of the coarse hair and hemp/jute based lines really do not work well at all. Fascinating stuff, never really looked at it before.
Vic - A source of information that I had the good fortune to discover claims that the huge monolithic structures from pre-history were constructed utilizing a lost technology whereby unstable gravity waves are manipulated by sound wave focusing. Allegedly easy peasy if you know the method. The nuts and bolts of that are left for us to discover. I don't know how well known the Coral Castle in Florida is here in Europe, but it was all built in secret by one eccentric fellow, Leedskalnin, with no modern construction equipment. He claimed to have discovered the secrets of the ancients... and who's to argue with him? The monuments still stand and are visited daily. Of course there are debunkers galore, but there are aspects of the structure that defy debunking.
Peter - Lethbridge found that the materials of the pendulum were not critical, rather, it was the length of the suspending line that mattered. Through experimentation he determined the lengths for all sorts of things. This was all demonstrable. With the gale force winds today in 82, I doubt a pendulum would be of any use. Its a forked stick sort of day.
Probably ripe Gorgonzola for which a sealed pyramid and an exorcist are probably required ;-)
