Hi everyone,
I’m a British resident in France with a Withdrawal Agreement card. I’ve lost my card, but ANEF won’t let me file the declaration of loss or request a duplicata, because it still shows a card “ready for collection” from an address change 2 years ago (I never got the convocation).
The prefecture doesn’t reply to emails and hangs up when I call, so I currently have no way to get a récépissé or replacement.
I need to travel to the UK and return via the St Malo ferry.
I do have my passport and a photocopy of the old card.
Has anyone re-entered France by ferry in a similar situation?
Were the border police able to check your status in their system?
Were you allowed in?
Any recent experiences would really help — thank you!
If you have your valid passport then the worst that will happen is that it is stamped, which doesn’t matter if you have a valid TdS. If the border guard is kindly they might even accept the photocopy of the card and not even stamp your passport. Take other ID that shows your French address, a recent bill and anything else you can think of that proves you are a French resident.
Both OH and I have been through Bordeaux airport recently. They have no interest in the CdS (10 years in our case) and stamp our passports. Given up worrying.
Ok no risk of being sent back?
Thing is I reckon I lost it last time when I was back in the UK and at Nantes airport they stamped my passport. It doesn’t matter that this stamp was more than 90 days ago?
