Maybe not taking gite bookings next year?

We have a lot going on in our lives at the moment and so may not take bookings for our cottage next year. We may stop doing the gite business altogether but I have not made my mind up yet. So I want to continue to have the option to start again in 2027 or 2028.
So I am going to keep my website going and also hold my page (if I can) on vrbo - I pay by commission, not subscription.

On the advice of friends I never say my gite is closed, so when the taxe de sejour website asks me if I am closed in the months I have no business I always click on “no” (ie I AM open)

I’m wondering whether I need to do anything different with TdS this coming year and whether it will just be ok to imply my gite is open even if I have no bookings?

I’d be grateful for thoughts please and any experience of going through a similar process. Thanks

I seem to remember that you could add to the TDS website only 3 months in advance. To be honest , I wouldnt worry about it, just send nil returns in. I think thats what we did when we were shutting down our gite business, but in those days we still had to send in paper returns with a cheque.
