Apparently there is now an investigation into a small ring of other officers who shared his misogynistic and perverted views.
How will women ever be really able to trust a police officer that they don’t know if they stick together like this?
Its a mans world Jane
Its scary
Yes, I’m sure that a lone woman will have ample opportunity to challenge the legitimacy of a rogue officer as he (it’s almost always a he) handcuffs her with malicious intent.
This advice would be funny were it not so laughably inappropriate and useless.
From what an old Met mate of mine tells me, it’s not just male officers that are doing this.
Met dykes?
Do you not think that’s offensive?
Not the word I would have chosen, but yes.
Female police officers that behaved just as appallingly towards their female colleagues and civilian support staff as some of the male officers did.
Not really.
If you have ever been ‘patted down’ by the female security officers at an airport you would know what I mean.
There is a certain section of the female population who apply for these jobs not just for the wages.
Sorry, I thought we were talking about the Everard case
A bit like priests then?
Do you mean roman Catholic priests and young boys, if so, please make it clear?
I have just had an e-mail from The Local saying that a French gendarme serial killer they were looking for for 35 years has been found dead, after committing suicide and leaving an admission of his crimes.
“Le Grêlé”.
The speculation was that he would have known all the techniques which might be used to catch him, and presumably that’s why he killed himself as the net closed in and he was due to be questioned: https://www.linternaute.com/actualite/faits-divers/2573662-le-grele-le-tueur-en-serie-est-bien-francois-v-qui-sont-les-victimes/
I’m thinking this may be the last straw for Dick, and that only a new Commissioner could be credible enough to make the necessary changes.
To suggest that women “challenge” police officers, or shout for help, etc, shows how woefully out of touch the Met is.
I imagine Dick will go. However, I also think that will be a distraction from the real problem - which is a sick organisational culture. This is something that is very hard to change - I worked on it a lot in my professional life. Organisational culture is built not only into systems, custom and practice, but into staff: particular kinds of people appoint and then promote others like themselves. Organisational cultures perpetuate over years, decades, and disappear from the purview of people inside the organisation - they cease to be aware that they even have a particular culture.
She has just had her contract extended for another two years.
She must have an entire shipping container full of Kompromat by now, so far too dangerous for the Met to throw her under the bus for this.
