Mexican Fleabane / Erigeron Karvinskianus

Has anyone in France got or planted these, if so how did they cope with last year’s long hot summer?

Have tried several times but failed to keep them alive. I am in the SW on a clay cap though, which puts paid to most plants :pensive:

Nigel, I have these Mexican daisies in my garden, (Creuse 23) and they survive all year, in fact I’ve just split some to move into pots and other areas. Like your picture, I have some growing in between the wall. image|371x500

We have had them for years in southern Morbihan (in two houses) and they do remarkably well.

I successfully grew these in the UK in clay soil and they thrived.
The ones that I bought last year in France, were kept in pots and I’m wondering whether the heat plus perhaps a lack of watering killed them off?

When we had them in the rockery (a cultivated area) they were watered regularly during the summer but in other areas they seemed to survive without any help. I am not an expert by any stretch but my guess is that it must be the soil.
