Good luck with that, do you people not know what “limited liability” means? the cash will be long gone leaving just a shell to meaninglessly declare bankrupt.
It would appear Farage was correct all along and we should be suspicious of people who arrive on boats….
Of course you’re right, but the Government had no choice but to go through with the lawsuit, in order to establish the principle and be seen to be doing something about the corruption after the previous lot didn’t.
Hopefully this establishes her guilt sufficiently for her to be kicked out of the House of Lords, as a minimum.
Unfortunately it will be a long process to get the money, such is the barrier allowed by a Ltd company.
The first stage is to get the Ltd company to pay the money back. Now done. This now opens the door for the SFO to go after them (the underwear model and her man) to try and prove that they knowingly used the company for fraudulent purposes. This second stage is much more complicated. And expensive.
The limited company doesn’t have the money though. The figure I saw was a value of £660k. I imagine the rest is offshore.
Agreed, and as @Adam1 says it might open the door to more direct action against Mone - but the £122m is almost certainly gonesky.
That’s the point - and, I suspect, even if this opens the door to going directly after Mone we’ll find that the assets are not in her name either.
There’s a trust, isn’t there, with Mone and her children as beneficiaries. And maybe a different one for his children, unless they’re all in the same one.
If it were me I’d have tried to get it into multiple small pots such that each one needed a significant legal effort to crack open.
That’s devious, Billy. ![]()
I think the company went into administration earlier this week.
I heard the same thing earlier on TV.
What a coincidence, huh?!?

Exactly- a ruling went against them only after it cannot be enforced. Something fishy……
No more than it was obvious that the ruling would be against them so they wound up beforehand.
I believe the National Crime Agency are investigating them for fraud. It’s been going on a while though but hopefully something may come of it. I think if they are convicted of fraud for the contract then they can be made personably liable. Just how that would work out is anyone’s guess. Even if it happens, it’ll take many years.
I think I read that the NCA were waiting for the outcome of the civil case. I really hope they’ve got something on Mone and Barrowman, awful people.
I don’t think she was always so. There was a TV biography of her and she came from a very poor background and worked her way up to establish her bra empire. It looks to me like she just wanted more and more. Marrying Barrowman must have been a dream come true. She appears to have had cosmetic surgery and became the woman we see today.
Yes a criminal, with sadly connections to a long established covern
By the time she married Barrowman, I believe the company was having problems. With his money, she didn’t need her declining empire.
And not just them. Their enablers too, I hope.
Well, apparently the NCA are also looking at bribery charges and that must by definition involve someone else, and probably someone who was involved in pushing the bid through. Wonder who that is ? ![]()
