Well best of luck with you choice France is a huge country with many choices. Me I am in the Midi Pyrenees about 30k north of Montabaun. It’s very rural stunning countryside and a few sites of interest nearby (to take friends when they visit). However I must say I hVe been coming to France for 35 years and have never and I mean never been upset by a local. The people around here, and remember very rural, are all so friendly and helpful and for my part so much better than in the UK. Best of luck
