Negative Interest on Bank Accounts in France

My husband has read that there may be negative interest rates on bank accounts including savings accounts where they will deduct money from your account. Is anyone else aware of this?


We are with BNP Paribas. It is a non interest account at the moment however when we move to France we were going to put some funds into a savings account.


Any thoughts, experiences....

if the charges are more than the interest then yes, it'll cost you and given that rates are extremely low or non existant...!
