New to the forum, been in France for a bit

Hi everyone!

My name is Bianca, and I’m new to the forum, although I’ve been in France for a while.

I’m originally from Trinidad and Tobago, lived in London a bit before moving here almost 17 years ago.

At first, I worked in admin and finance for small companies, but then turned to energy work, such as Reiki and Magnétisme, and now I am training to be a professional coach, as I would like to accompany people, especially foreigners, in a transitory phase in their lives, find clarity and empowerment.

Looking forward to being a part of this community!

Thanks @ChrisMann !

Welcome Bianca,

There seems to be a plethora of people starting careers as life coaches and I always wonder whether it brings a satisfactory monetary return for the coach. I have a friend who is a sophrologist and coach, and another one who is a motivational coach (former martial arts teacher and sports teaching qualifications) for businesses (CEOs and the like).

Does it work for the coach and what kind of investment return does it bring in comparison to other advisory professions, if you have any insights you’d like to share?

Thank you :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I know what you mean — since I’ve started training, I’ve noticed a lot of coaches in all shapes and forms. I’ve also worked with a few myself, in different areas, and found their support genuinely valuable.

It’s not a regulated profession in France, so the label is used very broadly here, and people enter it in different ways and at different stages.

I can’t really speak to the ROI personally yet, as I’m still in the learning phase, but I’ve found the training both interesting and demanding. It requires a lot of self-awareness, rigour, and practice — and you meet some very interesting people along the way too!
