Probably less sugar as that acts as a preservative. It doesn’t preserve humans though, probably the opposite.

The same goes for jars of cornichons, very small time period allowed on those now so I buy Maille ones as they have the longest at 3 months in which to use up. Years ago I would keep them forever in fridge like ketchup, bottled salad sauces etc which are all now short life spans and they do go off as I have found or change in consistency too!

Don’t know about that, but a kir is my essential every evening before dinner.

Unfortunately our man who used to go to the UK doesn’t go there any more so our supply chain for things has dried up. But I will give Jane’s recommendation a go. And @Gareth - Stuart says no - he doesn’t like rum! Some of you may realise that he is a bit of a fussy bugger and if it’s not the right thing (like real Roses Lime Juice) then he won’t try it. He’s just have to be content with his shandy at the moment. :beer_mug:

Since the very purpose of pickling is for preservation it strikes me as being a bit elfin safety gone mad.

Doubt that, far more likely much weaker vinegar so it increases sales.

Think they have cut down on the vinegar side of things and watered it down compared to previous and a lot of the little pepper balls have gone too. Luckily the grandkids eat them like sweets when we have nibbles out so a jar goes fast these days.

Make your own, cut out the crap and be happier and richer

Sugar-free is one of its selling points

He’ll know if it’s not the right thing. The other day I couldn’t be bothered to go into the outside store room to get some more Badoit so I filled the top 2” of his drink with tonic water. Guess what? He knew immediately that it was slightly different albeit he quite liked it he said don’t do that again please!

There you go, its mentioned on the blue panel with the refrigerator symbol

So long as they haven’t cheated and put something else in that the industry doesn’t consider sugar :joy:
