Welcome, Kirsty. Your post has reminded me that I must buy some the next time I’m at Lidl.

Thank you to those who welcomed me and bon appétit Gareth.

Welcome Kirsty . But what is this obsession with marmalade! I have never liked the stuff. A jar of it as part of the secret Santa gift from my family group , adult children ad their partners, sister in law , 2 nephews and a partner has left me wondering which one knows so little about me that they thought I would enjoy a jar of marmalade!

Chacun à son goût !

You are not alone. I love the idea of a sweet orange jam but have never found one. I hate marmalade for several reasons.

Not even the Bonne Maman Oranges Amères David?

Thank you. I will try it this week. If I don’t like it the worst that can happen is that someone will get the rest of the jar.

It’s like a failed marmelade, but still a bit bitter but very clear and light.

If you turn them upside down in the supermarket before buying, there’s usually plenty with hardly any peel at all.

I thought it was just the peel I disliked so experimented with making orange jam. Didn’t like that either!

I like the idea of marmalade and we always have jar in the fridge, always home-made and excellent (albeit not ours), but despite considering myself pro-marmalade I can seldom find an occasion when I want to eat it. Even more so since I’ve just discovered the unbelievable price of Frank Coopers Vintage Coarse Cut Oxford Marmalade

Though I’m intrigued by their claim that it’s ‘Made with 45% fruit Imported English Marmalade’ - surely the other 55% can’t be (non-imported?) sugar?

Oh dear. 45 euros? Pull the other one.

There are people that like that one, a bit like some people seem to like warm beer.

I’m also intrigued that they claim it’s 45% fruit as they also say it contains 40g of fruit per 100g.

Try their regional Corse (Corsican) confiture clementine. Marmalade in style and texture but packed full of clementines and not too expensive either. Think I recommended this last year when I bought it for first time, far nicer than the ordinary marmalade offerings you find in most supermarkets.
