Contrary to recent correction of my experience that the Guardian is not free, I have just got this when trying to access @Roger_Lapin 's link.
We’ll be fine without your help We need reader support
And I could apparently get no further without paying something.
I get a prompt covering the window and asking me to become a paid subscriber, but I can just click this icon circled in green to make it disappear. I still get a banner at the bottom of the page, but I can scroll through the entire article without subscribing.
Do you see something similar, @David_Spardo ?

Then if you click the ‘maybe later’ at the bottom of the 2nd picture the bottom.bar goes away too.
