Only in this thread though - as it happens getting the “new” temporary motherboard in situ, updating its OS, transplanting M.2 cards and, I hope, getting my email up and running again has left a few moments where I am twiddling my thumbs waiting for it to download stuff or reboot.

Turns out no, as long as I copy the relevant files from the old config.
But, then, I had set up the email server to have minimal dependencies as the ultimate aim was to move it to a small dedicated machine.
Other stuff - somewhat more convoluted.

I had a laptop that was duff. My lodger, BSc/MSc, now on the team maintaining the Crystal Palace transmitter - only serving 8 million people 
- offered to look into it.

Poor Billy. A few websites I use regularly are down, I hadn’t realised how many rely on it. Including Mary Berry, I wanted to look up a recipe. Should have saved it to my laptop.
I guess it’s due to this… Une panne majeure frappe Cloudflare ce midi, rendant inaccessibles de nombreux sites et services en ligne.
