Hi I need to get Birth/marriage certs translated anyone know of an official translator in the Lot/Cahors area they can recommend?
Are you sure you really do? For our titre de sejour I translated our own and then signed it to make it look official. The language is very limited and very simple.
My son got certificates for PAC’s at the local tribunal translated by the in-house translator and apostilated too, cost not very much at the time as he had to get a long UK birth certificate done.
There is a facebook group called Living in the lot help and advice Which could help you find somebody
Traducteurs assermentés in the pages jaunes.
If it is for something like nationality application then need a traducteur assermenté. Either as vero said look in yellow pages or use this
Absolutely check the official list and you can also cross refeeence it to translators offering an online service. Used one recently for birth certificates etc and generally good. Care point is to ensure you also ask for the official hard copy as well as the pdf version.
Do be careful when searching for “traducteur assermenté” on Pages Jaunes.
Unfortunately Pages Jaunes tends to show the same list for “traducteur assermenté” as it does for “traducteur ”.
Another solution is to search the database on the website of UNETICA (unetica.fr)
Or just us the official lists!
Indeed, which is why I regularly had to refuse work since I had a full-time job and did translating (industrial, legal, and medical) as and when it suited me.
