I thought this was interesting on Mark Carney and his view on the US. I think he could be ahead of Europeans in his thinking about the US attitude in general and towards sovereignty.
Oh dear, yet another demand for money, and not from Carney. I suspect I agree with him but I will never know because I won’t give in to highwaymen.

There has not been any actual attack on Kharg Island.
So now we have the President of the USA posting false AI generated imagery to his faithful followers.
The concept being that tell a big enough lie, and tell it loud enough and frequently, and people will believe it simply because of the source.
I keep asking myself if he can drag the office of the Presidency down any lower, and the answer seems to be yes he can.

The problem is that there is no guarantee that the Trump administration will actually comply with court decisions. Therefore, an American in France who wishes to vote in the midterm elections is faced with a dilemma. Either send the ballot paper by post and risk USPS (United States Postal Service) not delivering it to the relevant state election office, or alternatively pay around €50 to have the ballot paper delivered by UPS / FedEx etc.
In this house we feel that these elections are so important that we shall be paying the money to avoid the ballot passing through the hands of the USPS.
