Pamela - I am amused that you are displaying your admiration for Trump in your writing style.
I’ll only choose one of your points (I could address them all). He got the genocidal war criminal Netanyahu and his rightwing savages to agree a truce by allowing them to move their operations to the West Bank. As a bonus he revoked the sanctions against the rampaging settlers. Not exactly a win for humanity.
This guy is going to cause more chaos, mayhem and suffering than anybody since 1945. And anybody who can’t see that is, with all due respect. myopic.
He’s already relaunched his assault on the NHS as the price of a trade deal. So that Britain can have the same lousy healthcare the US has, but with lovely US profits .
Look at the dross he has running key departments. It’s a very dangerous time and the EU has to batten down the hatches and follow the Danes, Canadian and Panamanian example and tell him to f*ck right off.
An excellent interview
.
I would be very surprised if he did. His campaign rhetoric has already been proven to be full of lies, unless I missed peace breaking out in Ukraine last Monday…
The problem is that his ‘base’ just don’t seem to care about being lied to. Their supplicance (if that’s a word) is both breathtaking & terrifying.
I really think we need some actual hard evidence about that.
I doubt this is true, and even if it was, what has it got to do with Trump?
Oh and the acronym is “LGBTQ”.
If by businessman you mean “asset-stripper” then yes that’s how Trump runs his country. It’s all about maximum profit for him and his buddies, and the environment, poor people, the sick, and those who disagree with him to the slightest degree can go %% themselves in his view.
There is one essential human quality that Trump lacks, and that is empathy. He cares about absolutely nobody except himself. Bear that in mind when judging both his words and (especially) his actions.
Only one!
I think Trump and his spawn are maybe a different species (and I don’t mean that lizard nonsense)
Possibly the most important one IMHO. If you do not have empathy for other people, how can you understand their situation and decide how to best govern them?
There are any other decent human qualities he lacks of course.
Just to say, given the oportunity I would personally kill Trump for even trying to do this and make us as sick as the US.
Apparently Trump just told a BBC reporter that Sir Keir Starmer is “doing a very good job”.
That’s the kiss of death right there.
But I don’t suppose Trump has any idea what the current policies of the British government are, any more than he does that of the Wallis and Futuna Islands.
Next week he’ll be saying that Rachel Reeves is a “very nasty woman” and imposing 50% tariffs on Scotch whisky…
(In case anyone’s feeling Trumpy, Wallis and Futuna is a French overseas territory - I had to look it up.)
Thats like the old football manager statement and then they sack them.
Yes! “The board is fully supportive of Mr. Ozgopotulovich as our manager” - until next Thursday.
Exactly, but I do not agree with all aspects of your next para:
With the exception of the Palestinians, I do not believe we have too much to worry about what he has said he is going to do, simply because he is a convicted criminal liar and much of what comes out of his mouth is juvenile bully boy rubbish. But certainly there is not one tiny piece of advantage to the world at large in whatever he chooses to do in the next 4 years.
What I think David is that last time around his incompetence and the residual grown-ups in senior and influential positions prevented him from carrying out his wilder intentions.
This time he understands how thing work and he is putting sycophants, idiots, lunatics and evil bastards into key positions to avoid his plans being frustrated.
You’ll have read about the row he had with the Danish PM, with threats and all. Today we hear that he thinks Gaza should be cleared out and the residents sent to Jordan and Egypt. He’s already “discussed” it with Jordan and plans to do so with Egypt.
And this is only week one. Everything is a “deal” in which he has to win, no matter what it takes.
IMHO, this bastard is capable of anything and there are few restraints on him now. I really hope I’m wrong, but…
I think that you are correct. I knew that it was going to be bad, but not this bad. It’s like he’s going out of his way to be as awful as possible, and no one is interested in stopping him. If the Senate rolled over on Hegseth, they’ll roll over on anything/anyone.
You really sound like the reason we are moving to France.
Family and faith?
Wadda joke.
Trumps been married several times and cheated on every one of his wives.
The only faith trump follows is scamming money by selling chinamadeBibles, chinamadesneakers, chinamadeect…to fake christians who only follow the white 'murican gun totin bible wavin jesus
You elected a self serving criminally indicted sexual harassing orange crook.
You mean “TrumpDoesSuck”…yes that is real. He does suck.
Lets talk sanctions, what do we buy from America, we can live without fast food, generally longer and healthier too. If he wants sanctions on what he buys in, what do we sell that he buys in? Its a genuine question, I never studied economics.
On a personal level hubby and I were talking about this this morning, we genuinely can’t think of a single thing we own that is is made in the USA!
Very good idea. A EU wide boycott of US brands.
There certainly isn’t much American food here (almonds, sometimes sweet potatoes, bagels at Picard) or consumer items, but I suspect there are probably some industrial goods that might be affected.
But were from the US and I can’t really think of anything we have (or had lately in the US before we left) that is “Made in USA”. We sold out to the Chinese decades ago. Hence the pissed off middle class that lost their manufacturing jobs.
We could still hit the brands though.
