Oh crikey Trump

The giant orange turd is speaking now, playing the victim as usual. Repulsive lying windbag.

More chaos. "
"President Donald Trump said Friday that in response to the Supreme Court striking down his sweeping tariffs under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, he will impose new global tariffs under different statutes.

Those will include a 10-percent global tariff under Section 122, which allows the president to swiftly impose tariffs but only for 150 days, as well as “several” new tariffs under Section 301, which applies to unfair trade practices. Those tariffs will take place effective immediately, Trump said at a news conference Friday.

“In order to protect our country, a president can actually charge more tariffs than I was charging in the past period of a year under the various tariffs authorities,” Trump said.“”

Toerag

Watched the speech -it was just a crazy old man’s incoherent, repetitive ramblings and lies. However, after the first ten minutes of live transmission of Trump’s ‘speech’, France 24 cut back to the studio and said that a condensed ,one minute long summary would shortly be available.

Looks like the members of the Supreme Court are weighing up their futures and reacting accordingly. No point over the longer term of giving judgements which many see as solely politically motivated.

The judges are a “disgrace to the nation”. I wonder where we’ve come across that before!

Not sure about that. Chief Justice Thomas won’t ever vote against Trump, he’s taken too many bribes. And the other two dissenters were hand picked Trump bootlickers. If the Dems ever get in power again, Thomas will be toast and Congress will make sure that Supreme Court Justices can be called to account. Shockingly, at the moment, they are self policed and so the majority can do what they like.

I thought the only way to get rid of a Supreme court justice was retirement or death. Is there another way?

Not at the moment I believe. There is no external oversight of Supreme Court Justices, but I think Congress could do something about that. Just how easy that would be I don’t know. And a Republican Congress would never do it.

Until they can break Trump’s stranglehold on the party, I don’t see them daring to do that.

Republicans would never do that, Trump or no Trump. It would need a Democratic majority in both houses and may need a supermajority. If it needs a constitutional change then forget it, it’ll never happen.

I believe King Charles and Prince William will be visiting Trump in spring and summer this year, something to do with a billions of dollars trade deal, and Trump has an unprecedented 2nd Royal Invite for September in the UK.

What a funny old complicated world we live in!

They can be impeached.

I didn’t know that. It’s interesting that it’s the same vote tally required in both House and Senate for a Supreme Court Justice as it is for a President. I can’t see a two thirds majority in the Senate ever being possible.

One possible action that has been suggested is that simple Democratic majorities in the House and Senate could introduce an increase in the number of members of the Supreme Court and then load it with more progressive justices.

Yes, that’s been discussed since the first Trump presidency. I don’t think it’ll ever happen as it sets such a terrible precedence.

Trump cult of personality & male dominance. Posters everywhere!

Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Mao Zedong, Kim Jong-il, Saddam Hussein and Gaddafi did the same.

It’s Munich 1938 again.

Oh no, after the WW1 reparations and the subsequent 1923 financial crash, Hitler did actually make Germany great again, it was subsequently he blew it. Trump has made nothing great, except himself as great blight on humanity.
