On-Line glasses

Hi Just wondering if anyone can recommend an on-line glasses supplier. Preferably one that accepts a UK prescription and will be paid for from my mutual ( axa )

I have used Zenni optical with Specsavers prescription. (Zenni.com) for many years.

You can choose from many styles and see what they look like on (if you use smartphone) . You can choose your own specification lenses e.g.Progressive, anti glare, polarized, chromatic etc etc and it adds up the cost as you choose.

IMHO they are very much better than French glasses which cost several times more.

Haven’t tried claiming on mutuelle.

Zenni.com is a US company. Myself, I have erected a tariff barrier. No US products till The Orange Imbecile has removed the tariffs he has imposed on everyone.

Specsavers [ Specsavers Optical Group Limited] is a Guernsey-based multinational optical retail chain, which operates mainly in the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the Netherlands and the Nordic countries

so they’re OK

and Vision Express - even more local. 'Grand Vision acquired Vision Express in 1997. The French parent company Grand Vision has clinics under various brands across Europe, and the rest of the world

Perhaps Roy is a little more pragmatic, as am I.

I am reading this thread using an American browser on an American phone despite my disgust of the antics of the mobster running the show.

Zenni optical started in California but the glasses are shipped directly to my actual address from China where they are made, as are 80% of all reading glasses sold in the west. (source ChatGPT)

You might want to check well-known European online opticians that accept UK prescriptions and provide detailed invoices for insurance claims. Some also offer customer support to confirm AXA reimbursement requirements. Before ordering, it helps to verify lens options, return policies, and whether they include proper certification for mutual health coverage.
