Onions from New Zealand

Couldn’t believe my eyes in Super U a wee while ago, talk about “Coals to Newcastle” :rofl:

I often see red onions from New Zealand in Grand Frais. In the land of the onion as well, beggars belief :roll_eyes:

The lads in the pic, used to venture as far as wildest Whitehaven when I was a kid, I was fascinated when Mam told me “They’re Frenchmen Bill”,

It hasn’t been a good year for onions. Makes me want to cry. :sob: But not as much as in a good year :joy:

Mine have been, ‘less than brilliant’ too Pete, garlic, tatties, squash, beans as well, simply a lack o’ watter. :cry:

Makes me wonder, Bill, if genetic material from the Tourne-sol in our garden was spliced into the veg, would that be a solution? The b*ggers seem to thrive on drought… :thinking:
