Online application to Assurance Maladie for inactifs

Has anybody used this site
https://inactif-europeen.ameli.fr/fr to apply to Assurance Maladie as an early retiree or inactif from the UK?

You aren’t eligible to use it as you are not european, unless you have another nationality. Sorry but you have to apply the slow way on paper to your nearest CPAM.

Thanks Jane.

Will be interested to hear how you get on Jim.
My husband applied as an “insctif europĂ©en” via the local CPAM in Feb and we’re still waiting.

It does take ages. I started with my local CPAM in January. Now my case has been transferred to CREIC in Nimes. I have to submit documents to them now and had hoped I might be able to do it digitally but alas, no!

Ah. My husband was also told in May by the CPAM that the mattter has been referred to the CREIC.
He had to submit a recherche de droits questionnaire along with umpteen justificatifs.
It had to be sent to the CPAM (I used Chronopost) who will presumably forward it to the CREIC.

Chronopost is a good idea. It is going to be a quite a pile of paper - 12 months bank statements for a start. I would be interested to hear how long CREIC take to process your application.

Will keep you posted.
I had a humongous pile of documents. God only knows when we’ll hear back from them.

Hi Helenochka On the form 710 I am a bit unsure of the scope of the word ‘ressources’ in the question ‘Vos ressources d’origine Ă©trangere ou versees par une organisation internationale’
This is for the last 12 months which covers selling English home, buying in France, moving to a new life etc. a period that isn’t very representative of our life going forward. Our pension income is only just settling down. Can you remember how your husband tackled this question?

It would not include income from capital, unless of course you live on capital drawdown. So just regular income like pensions.

Hi Jane
Thankyou for your expertise and sorry to be a bit thick on these matters! Capital drawdown?? We have been using capital from savings over the last year to get us to the point when teachers’ pensions start. So should I indicate that? And pension lump sums. Should I include them as a ‘resource’ ?

I am not clear what CREIC are assessing when it comes to finances. Is it to ensure one has enough money so as not to be a burden on the state. This has of course already been covered by a successful visa application. Or is it concerned with people having too much money to qualify for the 70% help with medical costs. If the latter what is the threshold?

I too am having trouble fathoming their logic.
CREIC is for EU nationals so there would be no visa application.
I assume they’re trying to establish “stable and lawful” residence (the requirement for eligibility for PUMA) but I also think they are indeed trying to establish the person doesn’t qualify for help.

On my husband’s form, I just listed my salary and our UK rental income (which is in my husband’s name).
I didn’t mention bank interest.
I included 12 months of bank statements for 2 accounts: our French current & our UK current accounts.
I didn’t send statements for savings accounts. The dossier was huge enough already!

Sorry, don’t know what the threshold is for help.

I am here from UK under a VLS-TS visa
I am doing the same as you re: bank accounts.

Will shout as soon as I hear anything. Although the case is being handled by CREIC, the address for submitting the questionnaire & supporting docs was our local CPAM.
Same for you?

I’m slightly surprised CREIC is handling your case if you’re not an EU national. But to be honest I have no idea how these things work and am groping in the dark.

It is our local CPAM handling it although in the last letter from them, with form 710 enclosed, they gave me the CREIC address in Nimes and asked me to send the form and supporting docs directly there. I might catch up with you a bit! I think though when I hear back it will be from our local CPAM again. But who knows!
I did check with The English Line of L’ Assurance Maladie that I should apply to CREIC even though I am not an EU national and they said I should
Sounds like you could have applied online - see my original question at start of this thread. Bonne Chance!

Not relevant to your current situation, but it’s important to know that your UK teachers’ pensions will be taxed at source in the UK and so are not taxable in France Though obviously this will need to be declared in France next May. The good thing is this should work to your advantage.

Hi again! Do you get notification of delivery from Chronopost? Some of these places are not geared up for signing for parcels. I am considering visiting Nimes (we are retired so have the time!) and hand delivering to CPAM/CREIC there. Does anyone reading this thread know the office and whether the Reception is open to callers?

If you’re thinking of visiting CPAM 14 rue du Cirque Romain, Nimes

There will be a Reception area, where you will be able to hand-in your Envelope to the Receptionist.

Make sure your envelope is correctly addressed so that it lands on the correct desk (eventually)

best of luck

Yes, I received an email from Chronopost the next day, confirming the humongous dossier had been delivered to our CPAM.
As I said, we’ve never been instructed to communicate with the CREIC direct or given their address.

A colleague popped an application through our CPAM’s letterbox months ago. And for ages they claimed they never received it.
I don’t suppose if you hand it over in person to someone in Nimes they’ll issue you with a receipt. If it’s a hassle for you to go there, I would just use Chronopost.
