Orange FR English speaking help line

Hello does anyone know if the Orange FR English speaking helpline is still operational?

I have tried for 2 days to call 09 69 36 39 00 from a mobile i have been calling +33 9 69 36 39 00, is this number still active as everytime i try i comes back showing engaged.

Thank you

It’s the number I have but not used for a very long time

Try 09 69 39 39 00

That number you have (09 69 39 39 00) is correct, but I was never able to get through using a VOIP connection nor could my neighbour connect to it using her mobile.

I don’t have any problem using my new mobile phone.

I can’t vouch for @DaniB’s number though.

Should be +33 9 69 36 39 00 (as per Grahame’s post) - just tried it (from the UK, on my mobile) and it happily produced the start of the recorded announcement about it being for English speaking customers.

The Selectra page has the international number wrong.

I’m sorry for my stupid mistake. I should have put an upside down 9 (!) so the number reads as Grahame and Billy’s posting.

Sometimes I type too fast for my own good and don’t check my work. Apologies to all for causing confusion.

I wouldn’t worry Selectra seems to be confused as well.

The French number above is correct (for the English speaking helpline) and can be dialled from the UK by replacing the leading “0” with 0033.

+33 9 69 39 39 00 will get you the French customer services from abroad, should you need it.

I have called O2 helpline this morning and the advisor informed me that there is nothing wrong with my account, no restrictions are in place, the account is fully operation. I asked him if he could try the number for me and he could not call the number. He concluded that O2 do not have the permissions to call the Orange English Help line. I have tried on another mobile provider from the UK and it was not permitted.

I did call Orange in Paris and after the 6th time managed to get through to an english speaking person who said they could not transfer me, take my number for a call back or assist in any way advising the only way is via the english speaking helpline.

Has anyone in the UK tried to call the english speaking help line from the UK? I think in France i had issues and had to buy a French phone to connect to the landline element to get through to them.

Sny help and advice please. Thank you

Do you have to phone? Can you not “chat”, using an online translator if necessary?

It’s surprisingly difficult to do so in French, though not impossible.

Seriously I tried the line yesterday and got through to the start of the announcement with no problems (iD mobile phone so Three’s network).

Do you have a mobile on another network that you could try, or a landline and are you 100% sure you are dialling the number correctly?

I have tried +33 9 69 36 39 00 and have not got through, saying busy. I called +33 1 44 44 22 22 which is their Paris Head office and did get connected and finally spoke to someone in English. They were not able to assist or transfer the call, only to say call the English helpline.

I will try using the translator, but dont think I can get on as I have to verify myself, and they do not have my upto date email address, although it was supposed to be changed out in the shop in France last year.

Thank you for your assistance though

Possibly try fully dialling “0033 9 69 36 39 00” or, as I said, from another phone/network (if that works you can go back and bend O2's ear rather harder).

Thank you for your help, almost sorted. I used the chat bote as per your recommendation, using google translate initially and explaining to the advisor that i needed time to translate. In a short while they said they would try and communicate in English although they admitted it was not too good. It was good enough and the biggest part was sorted, i would not have thought of this so thank you. I can not get to my space to look at my bills although they changed and updated my email details as i have to log on via the orange internet in France, or request a new password via email, but they will only send it to France, not the UK.

Additionally the advisor advised that the UK help line is NOT accessable by UK mobile and informed me that to access the Help line i either needed a french landline or a french mobile, not a UK mobile.

Hope this helps

I don’t think that’s correct, as above.

At least not generally - it is an “09” number so some operators might block itbut my experience suggests not all.

Talked to them yesterday from a French eSIM number.

I have spoken to Orange (English helpline) on a U.K. mobile from within France on several occasions though not for about 2 years. Perhaps things have changed.
