Organic cat food

Would anyone have a brand of organic cat food they’d recommend? He eats dry and wet, depending on time of day, mood, etc.

That would be his preference.

Storage is a problem :joy:

My cat unfortunately likes to catch his own organic produce. The cat flap is situated over a metre off the ground so he has to jump onto a ledge to get in, I thought, wrongly as it turned out, that this would stop him bringing in his playmates. The squirrel was the final straw. I was so horrified I left him to it, when I returned he had eaten the whole thing, except what I believe was the liver. Cat flap now locked, he has to knock and I check to see who he’s bought home!!!

First check that your cats are actually organic…

It might have been, though I’ve read they tend to leave the gall bladder and stomach, as these are difficult to digest.

Glad your Christmas break was so short!

I made a special seasonal exception for you.

Yep, gall bladder, I knew there was one bit they didn’t eat.

Two of my cats are SO FUSSY about wet foods. I’ve tried different brands, flavours & textures, mostly supermarket pet foods, without any real success. So much uneaten food goes into the bin.

However, was surprised & pleased that they both emptied their bowls at first sitting with Sheba foods. They are eating whatever I give them now, whatever flavour or texture, provided it is Sheba food. Hope it lasts!

But are there better ready-made foods available? I see there are other foods, more expensive, such as Franklin, Ziggy & Repas Plaisir which I might try.

Franklin for example, show their foods thus – but is the food in the can the same as in the saucer?

Mine likes Sheba (poultry mini fillets in sauce) too.

He doesn’t seem to like fish. I’ll have a look for those Franklin ones.

Our cats change their preference the minute I buy more than one pack of the foods they woofed down the day before.

Cheap Lidl catfood - or Sheba…. Certain flavors they don’t eat at all so I keep a box for the rejects going to the local cat shelter.

Any leftover food in their bowls goes to the chickens - they’ll eat anything. Even the 1/2 mouse left of the nights catch…

Mine eats Purina with veggies mostly. I think she will eat Sheeba as well. When we had 3 cats she was,I think, a defensive eater, knowing that if she didn’t eat it when offered , the 2 males would eat it. Now, she’s fussy and mostly likes dry food.
