Hahah .. exactly what my wife said!…placed by the door to ward off the vamps…

I wondered where you’d store it. I believe garlic doesn’t like damp?

We have a huge series of cellars/caves and some of them are very dry and should do the job. Some, looks like, were used to keep animals and some now have bats. Some are a bit damp and scary (not explored them yet and have no plans to do so either …

I can’t grow stuff, but will get some from a friend. Then I shall freeze the individual garlic cloves. That way they will last me a long time. :+1:

I do that, peel and wrap each clove in al foil and then into plastic freezer bag or box. Lasts forever unlike the bulbs bought and then deflated within a week or so and fresh garlic is not cheap currently either unless you buy the rubbish stuff

That’s a great idea!

Regarding the cheap stuff, I avoid the imported cheap variety from China. It is white. It has been bleached. Horrible.

With our garlic harvest, we dry store it for a couple of months, then clean and peel the bulbs, then the individual cloves are put in oil in jars, they keep for a very long time and added bonus we get a great garlic oil.

They grow a lot around here but its not in the shops yet nor those humungous spring onions that you grill on the BBQ, a local to here veg but not eaten in great amounts in one go - you can imagine why :scream: :poop:

Oh good idea…I did have some very small bulbs so I’ll wait a bit and then do exactly the same with olive oil. Nom.

Nice job! I’m going to plant garlic for the first time. Any tips you can share from your learnings?

Hiya. I think prepare the soil well and then go and buy some garlic ‘seeds’ and stick them in the ground.

I’m not expert and @Wozza put me on to this chap gro instructions:

Very best of luck and enjoy the process!

thank you! I cant wait to harvest like a pro

Never have grown them from seeds before maybe I’ll try next year with hard neck garlic.
I’ll be planting my garlic cloves sometime around mid November from home saved

Oh and @Moi …I didn’t mean seeds but the cloves available in garden supply shops. Sorry.
