My new passport was delivered a moment ago. The old one expires July 2024.
I applied for renewal in the UK on Monday. I didn’t manage to post the old one back until Tuesday, and it was obvious they were waiting for that before processing the application, so presumably they might have done it in 4 days rather than 5.
I would have posted this in the Good News thread, but thought it might be of wider interest.

Did mine from France in May. Wasn’t as quick as yours (although there were bank holidays to consider) but I was equally as impressed as you.
Considering how inefficient friends and family tell me some things are in the UK, I was very happy to receive mine so very quickly.
I think international renewals are handled by a specific - presumably non -striking - team.

Maybe Sunak should’ve used this as a measure by which to judge him and his government instead of his 5 pledges, because he’s not halved inflation, reduced NHS waiting lists, reduced number of small boats or grown the economy
