Paying the agent immobilier if we decide to not sell a house?

We have a house on the market now and it's not moving -- and all the time costing money. The agent has had the house since last year and now suggesting reducing the price to the point that we would lose a lot of money.

We think perhaps we should rent it out for a few years instead, so will we have to pay the agent? I don't have a copy of the sales contract to hand at the moment, but is it likely we would have to pay something, or can just say thanks and walk away?

No sale, no commission. My OH sells and that is how it is. Simply say that it is off the market rather than dropping the price and say goodbye to the agent. Then rent it out.
