Phone screen damage

I’ve looked on the internet but can’t find an answer.

I have damage which seems to be scuffing acros part of my screen. It baffled me until I saw it corresponded to a line of stitching on the case cover (it’s one of those cases with a cover).

I think the stitching (which I’ve now unpicked) was in a synthetic material and rubbed off some coating on the screen. It’s an iPhone.

Can I reapply any sort of coating, perhaps having polished the screen? I’m also wondering about a screen protector, but haven’t had a great experience with those.

Can’t help with the scuff mark on the screen but I’ve used JETech tempered glass screen protectors on my iPhones for the last 8 years or so. Easy to fit and tough as old boots!, my OH is pretty careless with phones and even he hasn’t managed to damage it yet.

Probably the oleophobic coating - tends to wear away eventually even with just normal wear and tear and cleaning can actually accelerate this.

Kits exist to replace it.
