Just been on the phone with the bank. Someone has tried to buy 3000 euros worth of furniture in Paris with a cloned copy of one of my cards. Luckily it was flagged as suspicious and the transaction was declined. I had my card details cloned once at a supermarket petrol kiosk, where it went out of my sight while it was placed in a card reader (or two). There must have been a way of finding out my address from my vehicle registration.
It was used to buy €900 worth of Ugg boots online from Australia, so I suspect a professional scam. Luckily I contested it succesfully, as the deliver-to address was not mine.
DO NOT LET CARDs OUT OF YOUR SIGHT!
