Yesterday whilst out in my wife's car I was driving quietly along a narrowinh two way country road when I saw another car approaching so I obviously kept well to my side of the road (a departmentale). I was unable to avoid a large and deep pothole which instantly deflated the tyre. On removing the wheel (low profile, wide, alloy natch) I saw that the wheel has been written off by the rim being completely bent and I assume irrepairable. I assume I am in for a new wheel and maybe a new tyre. If the whole lot we will be looking at about 500 euros I think.
Does anybody out there have any experience of making a claim? How to do etc? I am today taking a pic of the wheel and tyre and will get a devis tomorrow? I anticipate a long delay in getting payment at the very least.
