Prince Harry self destructs, again!

Surely Prince Harry has brought his current situation apon himself.
I am a royalist but no fan of Harry.
After all he has said both prior to and in his book ‘Spare’ about his family members he now wants to return to the family circle and be welcomed with open arms.
History has already proved that english royalty and American wife don’t work.

So sad. It’s time he just stopped pouring petrol on the flames. He is so alone - no one (seemingly) to advise him well.
I forgive him much, remembering the young boy who was required to walk behind his mother’s coffin, past a world of mass hysteria, because that was what that family did.

You can also see who wears the trousers in that american household too! $14 for a pot of factory made runny jam - they’re having a giraffe! Feel sorry for the grandchildren who may never get to know their grandpa now. I can just imagine what Prince Philip might be saying had he still been alive.

Harry is psychologically damaged - both by the trauma of losing his mother and by serving in Afghanistan.

I have some sympathy for him on that account.

But… he has brought a lot of his present situation on himself. He keeps complaining about press attention and intrusion, and expressed a wish to “step away” from Royal life, yet both he and his wife constantly seek attention from the media. There was no need to publish that book, for example.

Giving yet another “poor me” interview doesn’t really sit well with allegedly wanting a quiet life out of the spotlight, and also wanting to be reconciled with his family.

I’m sure Meghan met a lot of snobbery and “here we go again, Mrs. Simpson” attitudes from the Royal Establishment, but I suspect she also brought some of that on herself by wanting to have her cake and eat it. Unlike Kate and Sophie who clearly understood that becoming a Royal wife meant fitting in with the established way of doing things.

If Harry didn’t explain all that to Meghan before they got married then he is to blame to some extent - he obviously knows what is entailed.

It’s all very sad. The Royals do have an important role to play in representing the UK and its traditions, acting as figureheads and encouraging charities etc. But they accept the downsides of that as well - Harry isn’t willing to do so but still wants the status and privileges - hence the fuss about losing his police protection - well sorry mate but you asked to not be part of the Firm any more.

Like Harry I lost my mother at a young age, admittedly not as young as Harry but the loss does have a life long affect abd I think more. so than losing a father.
My father spent 33 years as a widower during which time I was determined to keep him and my 3 siblings together. My brother is an arse, aren’t they all, but we have stayed on good terms even though there have been many disagreements.
Even though you cannot chose your family my sisters too are still my friends.

Maybe, maybe not. Many lose parents too soon and have to get on with life. Some who serve in conflict suffer the effects afterwards but I doubt Harry’s involvement in Afghanistan mirrored that of his comrades. As his book is titles I imagine he was very much a ‘Spare’ part when it came to live action.
Surely he had the personal protection around him then that he is bitter about having lost now.

Away means right away.

Why would UK tax payers be continuing to fund security for an erstwhile royal no longer doing a full service job for crown and country? Wealthy people routinely pay for their own personal security while visiting the UK. Presumably, enough is being made from the royal connection to sell jam and self promotion, why are not some of those profits being used to pay for personal security?

This pity party rather proves Harry inherited his mother’s pea brain. How can he not remember the devastating TV interview when his mother washed dirty linen in such a public and undignified way, causing pain and withering embarrassment to his family? How can he now be stupid enough to repeat this public whine?

I sincerely hope King Charles has a lot more “time left” on the throne and that Prince William is not left with this ever rattling skeleton while he newly navigates the burdens of office.

I feel sorry for Harry as I reckon he has serious problems with his mental health.

I hope he will return to/stay in America with his family there… and find some inner peace. :crossed_fingers:

The Royals have enough trouble keeping Randy Andy out of the news without having Harry back in the U.K.

If he is scared of being attacked, he and his miserable missus should keep a low profile as that is what they moaned about living in the UK. Telling everyone where you live and posting photos of your mansion at every opportunity is a terrorist’s godsend and then he goes to countries where its not exactly safe on the streets for their people!! Just a spoiled brat jealous of his older brother and now not even in line after him for the throne.

I have no more to add to that, right on the button.

Harry seemed to be a favourite before he was with Meghan.
I wonder if in his deepest thoughts he regrets being with her (apart from his children). His love or lust for her took over common sense and now he’s stuck.

My thoughts would be he would leave her if he could have his children.

One wonders what it was about a black American that upset the gutter press enough to relentlessly hunt them down.

I think it’s her character and her manipulation of Harry to go against everything that he had respect of his family , friends etc rather than her skin colour.

She comes across as money mad and wants more and more to spend on frivoloties. Have you noticed every report mentions the value of her jewellery and clothing, we, the plebs are not interested in that but it sends out the wrong vibes and she apparently is someone you wouldn’t want to work for. I doubt H has much of a say indoors when she is about.

Looks like he rather let the cat out of the bag regarding his father’s cancer prognosis too. Something the family and probably government had wanted to be kept private.

The fella needs to learn that when you’re in a hole, stop digging.

I am blaming the press & ‘the plebs’.
A magazine like HELLo would not exist without interested readership.
The Mail and other ‘page 3’ rags exist in large printruns and online followers because they supposedly expose the fallibles of celebrities.
Nude photos, price of someone’s house, dress … increases the readership.

Is that still going on, really? I thought that had finished years ago. :astonished:

I missed that, not being a royal watcher, what did he say?

Never ends, now you can aldo add some ‘reality show celebrities’ into the mix of royals moviestars and musicians.
