Problem with car wheel - help please

We appear to have damaged the metal rim on one of our wheels. It’s not much and appears to be from a pothole incident. We took it to our local tyre place that we use and they said that it should be repairable. They also said the car is fine to drive.

So has anyone had this as a problem as we would appreciate your thoughts.
Many thanks

Surely trust your garage who have seen it, rather than a bunch of well-meaning strangers who haven’t?

Should be? A tyre shop professional should be positive so try another one. There is always the risk of internal damage to the tyre structure and/or slow leakage of pressure.

Alloy or steel wheel? A photo would be useful. Alloy repairs are expensive and diamond cut engraving even more so with the loss of some depth of the metal.

Steel wheels with a small dent on the flange (outer edge) can be reformed quite easily.
