Problem with 'Free' telephone service

We moved back to UK last year. Can’t find how to cancel our ‘Free’ moblile service. Finally stopped paying the €2 but they are persistent and keep sending me emails. Threatened me with stopping my service if I didn’t pay and I replied to do this - but it did not work. Still getting monthly emails. Help please!

We stopped our Free internet and Mrs W telephone package last year no problem or presque.
Did you have a box with them and have you sent it back. Also I remember that to close the account it had to be done by written letter (snail mail).

Registered letter to the address hidden in their website one month’s notice I think.

There are standard templates on line - La Poste you can do it online - template letter - e signature - registered mail - about 8 euros from memory mainly for the post.

That’s what we did

IME Free are blackguards.

Imperative to send only by registered post, if from France also with “avis de réception”.

As soon as you see it’s been received, give them 48 hrs then phone, give them the reference of the letter and the date they received it, and the date you gave whatever notice your particular contract required. If they say they still can’t see it even though you’ve got the proof they received it, call up and say the same each week.

On the day after the last day you should have been paying, call them and ensure they confirm they wil not take any further payments from your account.

Watch your bank account carefully in case they do still, take further money. Even if you do all of the above, they may still take money and they will laugh in your face and they will never, ever refund the payments over-taken.

Similar for return of box if you had one.

If you don’t believe me about Free’s standard (mal) practice, look on a French telecom forum or two.

Thanks everyone. Will try
