Thanks Jane. I guess you only knew it had flipped over (when it worked) by observing/remembering where the arrow was… were you confident that the extinguished bottle was in fact empty?
I have an old and manky looking version of one of those, with an additional thing you need to turn inside the house, it is a security thing of some sort, it goes red and cuts off the gas if the supply is interrupted for any reason, then you have to reset it when the gas is back on and it goes green. I have those dark green bottles that live outside.
