Pva builders glue

Hello all. I'm trying to find PVA glue -exterior grade , for a variety of things. I don't want the pasty thin stuff we use at school for collage and paper, it needs to be thick, builders supplies PVA and I need about 3 litres, so a gallon/5litre tub or bottle.

I'd like to pay closer to the UK price of 10quid, rather than the French price of 60 euro which is all I have discovered

Also, I thought I'd share that it's called Colle Blanche, Colle Vinylique or Colle à Bois, because it took be a good hour to find this out.

happy sticking everyone !

Then I would mention that they also sell SBR which is far better as a cement admix if suitable.

yes John, I'm after waterproof version. I like the screwpak site very much, and would use them but I'm going to the UK in a week or so. So have decided to halt work until then and save myself the petrol money or delivery fee on a trip to LOt and buy some much needed emulsion at the same time.

I'll be nipping into B&Q, as ever, by the looks of it.

happy fixing peeps x

Jo, you don't say what you are using it for but PVA is at best water resistant, it re emulsifies in water. Waterproof wood glues may look similar are are usually EVA. If you are using it in a wet area try SBR

Here you go Jo

Yes, ask Tony Cox at Screwpak, he's an SFN member.

Yes, I agree. Screwfix are good and they deliver to France. I have the remains of a bottle of Unibond that I found in Perigueux but have not seen at the place again. It was around €30 for 5l but I don't know how that compares with UK prices. I soon need more, so if buying that one and you happen to find it here in France, say where and how much please.

It may be worth considering getting it from Screwfix if you can get an order of more than £100 together (free delivery)

Here

This is the proper waterproof one which is mainly for bonding exterior rendering etc. But their No Nonsense stuff is very good as well but I don't think they do a waterproof one....

Bon courage..
