Ramblings in Ireland - Kerry Dwyer

Kerry Dwyer sent me a copy of her recently published Ramblings in Ireland and once I finally got around to reading it, I couldn't put it down. It's a gentle account of her walking holiday in Ireland and as such, whilst it's not a page turner in the usual sense, you really do want to know what happens next!

The descriptions of the Irish countryside were lovely - it actually made me want to visit - and I appreciated her husband's enthusiasm for a proper cooked breakfast. Whilst it's not a guide book as such, there is plenty of local information that would make it an ideal holiday companion should you feel inclined to retrace Kerry's steps

As a fellow English teacher, I really related to the stories about her students firm conviction that all British food is poisonous and the muddles that can result from literal translations. I especially liked the account of the young man and his 'plastic cock' - you'll have to read it yourself to find out more....

You can find more details on Kerry's page here. Enjoy!
