RDV for 'Echographie'

Hello all, OH has a visit to see his specialist at St Andre later this month and she has asked him t have an
‘Echographie’ before his appointment.

We’ve triedl our local ones, Bergerac/Perigeux/Agen/ Villeneuve but they only have RDV’s for Dec/Jan.
St Andre has suggested trying in Bordeaux.

Bordeaux very confusing with many hospitals/clinics as some say ‘private’ & still difficult to contact.
He has an ALD so would he still have to pay?

Would be grateful for any help or suggestions.

regards T

We had the same problem back in the spring and asked the secretary of our urologist if she could help as she would have more influence than we did and the department in the hospital squeezed us in. We use St Hilaire in Agen. Sorry, don’t know Bordeaux.
I think you will probably find that the ALD covers the cost.
Unfortunately you may have to reschedule your specialist, unless it’s really urgent, in which case maybe they can exert influence,

If the prescription is marked up as ALD then it will be covered unless a secteur 2 clinic when there will be a bit extra.

Have you phoned the clinics? If not try phoning them and being super-nice and slightly desperate. They will most likely have emergency slots you just have to get them to give you one

Edit, or specialist’s secretary as Sue says is good idea too.

I’ve discovered, due to DS2s fractured shoulder and upcoming appointment at the clinique De sports at BX that PX hospital keeps early morning appointments for urgent stuff with near specialist appointments. Worth trying. I also found looking on dictolib that Bergerac had much earlier listed appointments than PX.

Have you tried a search on Doctolib, usually quite good at finding a RDV even if you have to travel a little further.

Doctolib is variable, depending on the area. I know many people swear by it but up where I am, it’s not a lot of help! The other problem with it is that specialists in public hospitals generally aren’t listed, so it’s a good idea to try more than one approach. I’m unfamiliar with @Toovey27 's area so can really only comment generally.

It’s pretty good here for people “en ville”, but also excludes hospital facilities. There you have to go via the dragons.
